rape cases in Kirinyaga on the rise, women condemn it

Kirinyaga Assembly Women Caucus has condemn the killing of a four year old girl.

Led by nominated MCA Caroline Wanjiku condemned the crime and called on the Inspector General (IG) of Police Hillary Mutyambai intervene in the case saying that it is unfortunate the girl was not getting justice.

Wanjiku added that if no justice for the girl, they will hold peaceful demonstration pushing for her justice.

“If the IG is not going to work on the case, then as women we are going to demonstrate pushing for her justice, we cannot sit back and watch as our baby girls molested and later on killed to conceal evidence, No we have to act” said Wanjiku.

She said that it was unfortunate the girl was going to school, when she was attacked; only for her body to be seen three days later after she was reported missing.

Ngariama representative Rose Njeru, accused the police for not arresting a father who has been molesting the daughter.

She said the girl whose information was relayed by the teachers from her school, are demanding for his arrest.

“It is very wrong for a biological father in Ngariama to defile her blood, we got the information from the school after the girl disclosed to her teachers the father has not been arrested,”said Njeru.
