Evangelical clergy urges the government to change the retirement age from 60 to 55 to give the youths job opportunities....

The government has been urged to change the retirement 60 to 55 to offer jobs to youths.

Speaking in Gichugu, the Evangelical churches chairman Jacob Kamau said the government should consider changing the retirement age to 55 for youths to get a chance to work in government.

He also said that the high rate of unemployment is due to lack of jobs vacancies.

He also said that 30 years of service could be of economic value to a youth adding that before retiring they would have empowered themselves economically.

'If a youth works for about 30 years   before retirement, they would have gotten some money to sustain themselves," he added.
