Thirteen Ethiopians charged being in Kenya illegally yesterday denied the charge and were remanded at Kerugoya G.K prison till the hearing date on 23rd march.

Prosecuting inspector Rogers Sifuna prayed that the court release them since they had passports with them and they pleaded not being guilty..

Through their interpreter, they told him that they had valid passports and also traveling tickets which bore their names.

Principal magistrate Steve Mbungi told the court that they will be remanded until 23rd of this month for the hearing.

He also said that the passports have to be scrutinized whether they are valid or fake.

He said that many aliens are finding their ways into the country with fake passports and that police have to investigate to acertain whether they are original or fake.

He said that with the look of the stamp that they had is from Moyale and that they could have not renewed the passports.
