Nairobi metropolitan minister has said that the Police service commission should be run by professionals.
Speaking at Itangi in South Ngariama, he said that the chairman in the force can be a civilian pointing out that the Inspector general and his deputy should be trained officers who are serving and not retired officers.
Githae added that the chairman can be a civilian but the Inspector general and his deputy who are supposed to run the force are supposed to be officers who are conversant with the work from either the Administration force or regular officers.
"We have no problem with the chairman being a civilian but we say that the Inspector general and his deputy are supposed top be officers who are working and not retired ones" added Githae.
He said that there will be disaster if civilians are appointed in the tree piositions in the force since the police oficers are going to be demoralized,stagnate in one position for a very long time due to either the favourism or even with tribe.
Githae said that the select committee Chair Omar Hassan is supposed to ensure that the correct and serving officers are the once who are appointed to give a new image to the force.
He told Omar that a woman should be appointed in the force since there are very many graduates and qualified women who are serving who deserve to be given positions.
"The Chair is supposed to get a woman since there are very many graduates who are in the police force to take either the Inspectors general position or even the deputies"Added the Minister.
HE said a serving person needs to be appointed to avoid stagnation in rankings and that the new board not to think of civilians.
On Ruto he said that The Eldoret North Mp should forget about UDM saying that there are forces that have been rained on him that cannot allow him take the chairmanship.
He said that Ruto should go back to his former party KANU or join PNU alliance and should stop wasting time and forget either forming another party or becoming a party leader of any existing party adding that the forces behind have alot of financial forces being spread out for him not to lead any party for unclear reasons.
"Ruto should think of getting back to his former party and forget about leading any other because the finances that have been poured cannot let him get a chance to lead any party" added Githae
He said that when Ruto said his intentions of leading a party, he opened avenues for his enemies and competitors who now have declared political war on him.
Githae added that PNU alliance does not have an owner calling upon Martha Karua,Peter Kenneth top join and compete freely and fairly in the nominations for a flag bearer since there is no preferred presidential candidate.
"PNU haina wenyewe,weneye ni members,Martha,Kenneth are welcome to come and go to the nominations with the rest for the party to get a flag bearer" he said.
He said that the party needs genuine and sincere people who will bring members together saying that they do not need greedy and selfish leaders who are only doing their thinks contrary to the agreement in the PNU alliance memorandum.
