KIDNAPPED.
A businessman was on Tuesday kidnapped ads he withdrew money at Kagio ATM in Kirinyaga west district.
According to the District Criminal Investigative officer Titus Mutie, the man had gone to withdraw money at 5 am so that he can attend to his businesses.
He said that Christopher Mwangi was ordered by two men armed with an Ak47 to get into a waiting car that was packed at the roadside.
He said that immediately Mwangi entered the vehicle, his kidnappers ordered him to call his family members demanding 100,000/= which they were to send in 30 minutes.
Mr. Mutie added that the first communication was detected at Karatina town after police track.
He said that police suspect some mischief in the man kidnapped but are still investigating the motive saying it was very early for people to be waylaying him saying that it could have been a plot.
The DCIO added that the last communication was at Naivasha saying that there are some leads that will make Mwangi join his family anytime as from today.
Security team has warned business people of withdrawing money before 7am saying that such a time even if he was killed, noone could have known or he could have been mistaken for a thug.
His family members held prayers for more than four hours praying for him to come home alive.
