Kabare Girls high school has maintained their track record and have shone again with a mean score of 9.488 becoming the leading school to beat even the boys schools in Kirinyaga County.
The school topped in the County during the 2011 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) and was ranked number 32 countrywide.
According to the Principal Jacinta Ndambiri, the schools performance has been improving since there has been teacher follow ups where from day one when the students join form one to form four.
She said that students excel due to the cooperation that is given by the teachers and they are accorded the necessary assistance in various subjects.
"I can attribute the schools best performance to the cooperation that is being to the students by the teachers and also the teacher follow ups on the students meaning that we try to improve whatever they got during their KCPE upto form four and also motivate them when they are about to sit for their KCSE" added Mrs Ndambiri.
She also said that this years improvement is very impressive citing that an increase with 0.133 is a great improvement compared to the others years where the improvement was noted with only a 0.01 mark.
Mrs.Ndambiri said that the school had 9 A's,38 A minuses,48 B+,37 B's,34B minuses,14 C+ and 10 C's out of the 190 students who sat for last years KCSE.
Kerugoya Boys high school makes a come back to position two in the County and number 77 countrywide.
The school had been rocked by several strikes where students were alleging highhandedness of the principal and also indiscipline cases were witnessed in the school.
Mutira Girls having produced the best girl in the county was rated number 5 but also it is trying to make a come back.
The big schools in Kirinyaga were Baricho High,Mutira,Ngiriambu,Kerugoya girls which still have time to improve.
